Christine (Chrissie) Peirano

Vice President of Operations

Vice President of Operations, Christine (Chrissie) Peirano has been working with Palmetto Beach Line Handlers (PBLH) since December, 2012.  Ms. Peirano’s excellent organizational skills and commitment to accuracy and quality are what make PBLH the premier line handling organization it is today.  Prior to taking on the supervisory role with PBLH, Ms. Peirano was a Senior Supervisor for Claims in the Risk Management Bureau of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).  In that role, she worked intimately with insurance companies, workers’ compensation attorneys, state agencies and HCSO law enforcement and civilian personnel to ensure safe and efficient return to work for all employees.  During her career, she has served various companies in supervisory roles in both Florida and Illinois.  As the Vice President of Operations, Ms. Peirano is responsible for all areas of company oversight, including compliance, accounting, client relations and employee payroll and benefits.  She has completed OSHA’s 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and General Awareness trainings and maintains her All Lines Adjuster License. Aside from her work in Port Tampa Bay, Ms. Peirano is a ready volunteer, giving of her time to organizations like Metropolitan Ministries, the Propeller Club of Tampa, Tampa Port Ministries and HCSO Charities.  Her dedication, work ethic and commitment to safety and efficiency set the cornerstone of excellence for the entire organization.

Ramon Matos

Supervisor

Supervisor Ramon Matos has been a constant with Palmetto Beach Line Handlers (PBLH) since 2013.  He began as a part-time line handler, and through his consistent display of leadership, integrity and commitment to service, worked his way up to the position of full-time supervisor.  Mr. Matos is a Tampa native and proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.  He attended classes at Hillsborough Community College.  As the team lead for PBLH, Mr. Matos is responsible for scheduling staff safety meetings and ensuring safety compliance at every job site.  He oversees the distribution and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and provides intervention and corrective action with staff, as needed.  Mr. Matos’ supervisory responsibilities include scheduling of personnel for vessel tie-ups, releases and shifts, record keeping oversight, and day-to-day staff communication.  The consistency, excellence and commitment displayed by Mr. Matos have earned him the respect of our leadership and staff, as well as that of Port Tampa Bay and terminal personnel.

Bonnie P. Peirano, PhD

Client and Community Relations

Dr. Bonnie Peirano joined the team at Palmetto Beach Line Handlers (PBLH) in 2019 to serve as a liaison to clients and the Tampa Bay port community at large.  She holds masters and doctorate degrees in Public Health from the University of South Florida and has been in the Tampa area for nearly 30 years.  Dr. Peirano has taught graduate and undergraduate classes in various health disciplines at the University of South Florida, the University of Tampa and most recently at Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School.  She served as the Health & Wellness Manager for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office where she oversaw the development and implementation of a comprehensive employee health and wellness program.  She brings to the company, 30 years of community engagement and involvement, including positions on the Board of Directors for Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School and Terrace Community Middle School.  Dr. Peirano has 15 years of experience managing a local Occupational Health & Safety consulting business and provides oversight on safety compliance, as well as employee health and wellness.  Her role with PBLH ensures customers receive the highest level of service, while ensuring overall exemplary safety standards for clients and employees.
